Inventory Management is available to customers on the Innovator and Professional packages.
This guide explains how to manage products, services and stock settings within RAM Job Management.
Inventory Management helps you keep track of parts, materials and services used across your jobs. By managing your inventory effectively, you can improve stock visibility, maintain accurate pricing and better understand how materials are being used.
Understanding Inventory Management
Inventory Management is split into three key areas:
Products
Services
Stock Settings
Manage Products and Services
Products and services are separated to help you accurately manage both physical items and non-physical charges.
Products
Products are physical items that you hold as stock, such as:
Boilers.
Radiators.
Copper pipes.
Equipment or materials.
When adding products, you can store important information including:
Product name and description.
Product code.
Unit cost.
Sell price.
Stock quantity.
We recommend completing as much information as possible to improve accuracy across jobs, quotes and reports.
You can also set up low stock alerts to notify you when quantities fall below a chosen level.
Services
Services are non-physical items that don't require stock tracking.
Examples include:
Installation charges.
Call-out fees.
Maintenance work.
Extended warranties.
Keeping services separate from products helps maintain accurate pricing and reporting.
Add a Product
To create a new product:
Select Add New Product.
Enter the required information, including product name and description.
Add any additional details, such as product code, pricing and stock quantity.
Save your product.
If you have a large number of products to add, you can import them in bulk using the CSV or Excel import template.
This works similarly to importing contacts and helps you save time when setting up your inventory.
Manage Stock Locations
The Stock Settings section allows you to manage where your inventory is stored.
You can create multiple stock locations, such as:
Depots.
Warehouses.
Engineer vans.
Garages.
Managing stock locations gives you better visibility of where items are held and helps improve stock allocation and usage tracking.
Use Products and Services Within Jobs
Once products and services have been set up, they can be added directly to jobs through both the web dashboard and mobile app.
This allows your team to:
Apply items consistently.
Track materials used.
Maintain accurate job records.
Improve visibility of costs and pricing.
