J.V.A Electrical Ltd has been trading for over 10 years, earning a solid reputation for providing an excellent service in both the public and private sector. RAM trackers were installed on J.V.A’s fleet of 20 vehicles in May 2011. We asked Craig Albert, Director at J.V.A for his comments on why he chose RAM and the benefits to his company.

​“I wanted to cut costs and enhance control over my fleet”

We initially looked into tracking our fleet to keep costs such as fuel expenditure to a minimum. Our trade is very reactive and therefore it was important for me to find a tool which would allow me to view the real time location of my vans, particularly when trying to locate the nearest vehicle to an emergency call out.

We knew tracking would allow us to monitor our fuel usage but we never expected the other benefits it would bring. Not only have we reduced our fuel consumption by up to 30%, the trackers have had a positive effect on our productivity.

​“We now get more work out of our engineers”

Our team are expected to be on site at 8am and we can ensure this is always the case, so we now get more work out of our engineers. The automated timesheets give us all the information we need and should we question an employee’s hours, rather than taking their word for it we can check this against the system. Before RAM I was concerned the vehicles may be being used privately, however this is no longer the case.

I can’t fault the RAM system, its easy to use and allows me to be in greater control of my workforce, as well as saving time and money! The service has been amazing from the outset and I wouldn’t hesitate in awarding RAM a five star rating!
