For businesses that need to create multiple jobs at once, bulk uploading can save significant time compared to creating individual jobs one by one. This feature allows you to upload dozens or even hundreds of jobs using a simple CSV file.
When to Use Bulk Upload
Bulk uploading is particularly useful if you:
Have recurring jobs for multiple customers
Need to schedule a week's worth of work in advance
Import job lists from other systems
Want to quickly set up similar jobs across different locations
Getting Started with Bulk Upload
Step 1: Access the Import Function - Navigate to the Import Jobs button in your Job Assist dashboard. You'll see guidelines explaining how the process works.
Step 2: Download Your Template - Go to the Templates section and download the CSV file for the job template you want to use. This creates a spreadsheet with all the correct column headers and formatting.
Working with the CSV File
Opening Your Download
The CSV file will open in spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, showing all the fields from your chosen template.
Critical Formatting Rules
Keep columns A, B, and C unchanged throughout your entire spreadsheet. These columns help the system recognise which template you're using.
Mandatory Fields
Any column header with an asterisk (*) contains mandatory information. Your upload will fail if these fields are left empty, so double-check them before uploading.
Filling in Your Jobs
Add one row for each job you want to create. Include all necessary job details such as:
Customer information
Job descriptions
Specific requirements
Reference numbers
Any other template-specific fields
Completing the Upload Process
Save Your File
Once you've entered all your job information, save the CSV file with a descriptive name (e.g., "Bulk Upload - Training Jobs" or "Week 3 Installation Jobs").
Upload to Job Assist
Return to the Import Jobs section
Go to Step 2 of the import process
Select your saved CSV file
Click upload
What Happens Next
Your jobs will be added to the system as unscheduled jobs. You can then assign them to specific drivers and set completion dates as needed.
Managing Your Uploaded Jobs
After successful upload, all your jobs appear in the job management section, where you can:
Assign them to drivers individually or in groups
Set scheduling dates and times
Make any final adjustments before sending to drivers
Track progress as drivers complete them
Troubleshooting Upload Issues
If your upload fails, check that:
Columns A, B, and C remain unmodified
All mandatory fields (marked with *) are completed
Your CSV format hasn't been corrupted during editing
File size isn't too large for the system
