Preparation steps:
Check your vehicle's compatibility, especially if moving the tracker from another vehicle
Move the vehicle to an area with good GPS coverage and with a clear view of the sky
Turn off the vehicle's engine
Download the RAM Tracking app
Installation Steps
1. Find the OBD-II Port
The diagnostic port is usually located:
Under the dashboard
Beneath the steering wheel column
In other areas around the driver's seat (check your vehicle manual if not found in the main locations)
If you can't locate the port, consult your vehicle owner's manual.
2. Install the Tracker
Plug the tracking unit firmly into the OBD-II port. You should hear a beep confirming the device has power.
3. Initialise the System
Start the engine
Let the vehicle idle for 5 minutes to allow the device to acquire a GPS signal
Check that your vehicle appears on the map in your RAM Tracking system
Troubleshooting
No beep when plugging in? The device isn't receiving power, so check the connection is fully secure.
Vehicle not showing on the map after 5 minutes? The GPS signal may need more time, or the location might have poor satellite coverage. Try moving to a more open area.
