Using the Calendar View

See how to request footage by date and time, find specific journeys and scroll back to view all available recordings in RAM Live.

Updated this week

The calendar view is another way to request footage from your dash cam, focusing on when incidents happened rather than where they occurred.

When to Use Calendar View

Calendar view is best when you know when a particular incident happened, as it allows you to easily find the specific journey in question.

This is different from the vehicle's page, which is better when you know where an incident occurred (such as on a particular street in a city centre).

How to Request Footage Using Calendar View

  1. Select your vehicle in the calendar view

  2. Browse through all the journeys that vehicle has made

  3. Find the specific date and time of the incident

  4. Click on the relevant journey to request the video

  5. A box will appear allowing you to adjust the timing if needed

  6. Click "Submit" to request the footage

Example: If an incident occurred on 7th May around 8:00 pm, simply locate that journey on the calendar and follow the steps above.

Understanding Available Footage

Check What's Stored on Your Dash Cam

Here's a useful tip: scroll back as far as you can go in the calendar view to see all available footage stored on your camera's SD card.

What It Means When You Can't Scroll Back Further

If you try to scroll back to a specific date but the calendar won't let you go back any further, this tells you two important things:

1. Footage No Longer Available Any footage from before the earliest available date has been overwritten and is no longer available. This happens automatically after 33 driving hours of footage have been stored on the SD card.

2. Urgent Action Needed If there's footage you need from the earliest available dates, you should request it immediately. This older footage is next in line to be overwritten as new footage is recorded.

For example, if you can only scroll back to 3rd May, any footage from 2nd May or earlier has already been overwritten. You should prioritise requesting any needed footage from 3rd or 4th May before it's too late.

Key Points to Remember

  • Calendar view shows journeys without the map details

  • Best used when you know the timing of an incident

  • Always check how far back you can scroll to understand what footage is available

  • Request older footage as a priority to avoid it being overwritten

  • The camera stores approximately 33 driving hours of footage before overwriting begins
