Customising your vehicle settings helps you get the most accurate reports and makes your fleet easier to manage. From adding driver details to setting up financial calculations, these settings enhance your tracking experience.

Our support team demonstrates how to configure vehicle settings for better fleet management.

Accessing Vehicle Settings

Click the Vehicles button at the top of your RAM Tracking portal to access all vehicle configuration options.

Basic Vehicle Information

Registration and Nicknames

  • Registration: Edit using the button on the right if needed

  • Nickname: Add a custom name that replaces the registration throughout the system

  • Makes it easier to identify vehicles at a glance

Driver Information

  • Driver Name: Appears in your vehicle grid and reports

  • Mobile Number: Used for mobile app functionality

    • Enables call/text options directly from the app

    • Number is copied to your phone's dialer or messaging app

Visual Customisation

Vehicle Icons

Use the dropdown menus to:

  • Change icons to match your actual vehicle types

  • Sort vehicles into teams with different icons

  • Make the system more intuitive for your specific fleet

Report Configuration

Environmental Reports

  • CO2 Settings: Enter values in grams per mile for green reports

Financial Reports

Add your costs to get accurate expense calculations:

  • Hourly Wages: Add rates for up to two people per vehicle

  • Running Cost Per Mile: Set your per-mile operating costs

  • System calculates total operating costs for each day, journey, and reporting period

Speed Settings

Custom Speed Limits

Set custom speed limits for different vehicle types. For example, if your large vans can only do 60mph in 70mph zones, you can set the system to flag this as speeding. This affects your speed reports and alerts.

Setting up these options properly will give you more accurate reports and make the system work better for your fleet.
