What Is the Driver ID System?
The Driver ID system is an extra feature for your tracking devices.
It automatically identifies who is driving each vehicle by using a Driver ID fob.
When a driver starts the vehicle, they tap their fob against the receiver.
This updates the system to show which driver is behind the wheel.
If they forget to use the fob, a buzzer will sound to remind them to “fob in”.
How to Assign Driver ID Fobs
To link each fob to a driver:
Go to the small person icon in the top-right corner of your tracking portal.
Select General Settings.
You’ll see a list of your drivers’ names. Add any new drivers here before assigning fobs.
Once all drivers are listed, click RFID Assignment on the left.
You’ll see a Key ID column, this ID is printed on the fob itself.
Match the Key ID to the correct driver using the drop-down menu.
Click Save.
That’s it!
From now on, whenever the driver taps that fob against the receiver, the system will automatically register them as the active driver.
Using Driver ID in Reports
The Driver ID system links seamlessly with your tracking reports.
If you go to History Reports, you’ll find the Driver ID Travel Report.
This report lets you filter journeys and activity by driver fob, rather than by vehicle or tracking device.
It’s a simple and effective way to keep your reporting accurate, especially if multiple drivers share vehicles.
Summary

Track who is driving each vehicle at any time.
Improve accountability and accuracy in reports.
Ensure drivers always log in correctly with audible reminders.
By setting up fobs for each driver, your tracking data stays clear, reliable, and up to date.
