Once your drivers and vehicles are set up, you can customise the vehicle check process to match your specific requirements. Create tailored checklists that cover exactly what your drivers need to inspect.
Finding Vehicle Check Settings
Navigate to Vehicle Checks in the main menu to access all customisation options.
Reviewing Default Checklists
Start by exploring Manage Checklists. RAM Assist includes pre-built checklists for different vehicle types:
Van checklists
Bus checklists
HGV checklists
Lift truck checklists
Review these existing checklists to see if they cover all the questions you need for your fleet. They're designed to meet common inspection requirements for each vehicle class.
Creating Custom Checklists
If the default options don't quite fit your needs, you can create completely custom checklists:
Getting Started
Go to Create New Checklist
Give your checklist a clear, descriptive name
Building Your Checklist
As you add fields to your checklist, you'll see a preview of exactly how it will appear to drivers on their mobile devices. This phone preview updates in real-time, so you can see how your checklist will look and function before drivers use it.
Add all the items you want drivers to check during their walk-around inspections. Think about safety items, legal requirements, and any company-specific checks that are important for your operations.
Saving Your Work
Once you're happy with your custom checklist, save it as a preset for future use.
Assigning Checklists to Vehicles
After creating or choosing your checklists, you need to assign them to your vehicles:
Go to Assign Checklists
Choose from either:
Default checklists (shown at the top)
Custom checklists (shown at the bottom)
Each vehicle can have its own specific checklist, so you can match the inspection requirements to the vehicle type and use.
The customisation options ensure that your vehicle checks cover exactly what matters to your business, whether you use our comprehensive defaults or create something entirely tailored to your fleet's needs.
